The 2019 Yale Day of Service coincides with the 27th annual National Association of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.” Letter carriers in 10,000 cities and towns will collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers in the largest one-day food drive in the nation.
Here in New Mexico, the U.S. Postal Service needs assistance handling what will be a huge amount of donated food that will come in to post offices once letter carriers return from their routes–and Yalies will be there to land a hand and help fight hunger/food insecurity, which is a terrible problem in our state. Food collected by the USPS will be donated to The Food Depot in Santa Fe.
