Partners for World Health (PWH) is committed to reducing medical waste, improving the quality of health care in under-served countries.   PWH collects serviceable medical equipment and supplies from more than 50 Northern New England medical facilities and redistributes them to organizations in need, primarily in Africa, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia. In doing so, PWH effectively reduces the negative impact on our environment; diverting thousands of pounds of medical supplies and equipment from landfills in 2017.  PWH also sends U.S.-based medical personnel on medical missions to developing countries with these supplies and educates the local community about global health issues.
Once collected and received in PWH warehouse, Volunteers are needed to sort, count and organize the materials for shipments.  Once sorted, PWH volunteers repackage the supplies for distribution to needy health care facilities across the developing world through container shipments or hand delivered on PWH medical missions.
Yale Day of Service will include the sorting and packaging of supplies and creating birthing kits for pregnant women.  These kits are valuable as many pregnant women lack the necessary supplies for their newborn babies.
There is plenty of parking.  If you plan to stay the entire day, please make sure you bring lunch.  A snack will be provided by Partners for World Health.
