Please try to arrive at least 10 minutes before your shift begins to sign in and meet the
WSCAH staffer who will be supervising you. WSCAH is conveniently located one block from
the 86th Street 1 Train stop at 263 West 86th Street.
We are located in the lower level of the Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew. You can either enter through the Church entrance or through the WSCAH customer entrance. Both of these entrances are located on the north side of 86th Street.
Here are some notes on attire:
a. Closed-toed, flat bottomed shoes are required when you are at WSCAH.
b. You will likely be on your feet throughout your shift, so please wear a comfortable pair of shoes.
c. Casual and comfortable clothing (example: jeans and t-shirt) is highly recommended. Please keep in mind that you will likely be handling food product.
Depending on program needs, you will likely be asked to wear gloves and hairnets. These
measures are to ensure proper food safety and if requested by a staff member, all volunteers
are required to wear them.
Please limit the personal items that you will bring. We have lockers to place valuable items, but space is limited.
West Side Campaign Against Hunger alleviates hunger by ensuring that all New Yorkers have access with dignity to a choice of healthy food and supportive services.
Help us prepare for the next week of service by coming to our pantry to breakdown our pantry, sort and bag food product, and stock our shelves!
