A project of the LightHouse for the Blind, Enchanted Hills Camp serves blind children, teens, adults and their families. Wildfires in October, 2017 destroyed almost 29 of the lower camp structures in the redwoods, including the 10 cabins that have housed hundreds of summer campers and counselors every year since 1950. The camp will open this summer, but much rebuilding is needed. There are dozens of projects, painting, cleaning, building, planting, log splitting, setting up furniture, installing fencing….
Staff will greet us at 9:30 and describe the projects. We will break for lunch (bring your own) and have a glorious picnic if the weather cooperates.
The camp is about 30 minutes from the Redwood Road exit of Highway 29, up a narrow mountain road. For those who don’t relish driving up the mountain, the Site Coordinator can arrange some car-pooling, meeting in an elementary school parking lot at the base; call  or email her using the information below.
