Description:
InTandem pairs sighted and disabled people on Tandem bicycles provided by Cannondale with support from Kepos Capital. Mark Carhart ‘88 founded InTandem in 2013 as a tribute to deceased visually impaired activist and avid tandem cyclist Artie Elephant. In 2017, InTandem stokers and captains rode over 33,000 miles together. Together, we brought the joy of cycling to individuals with disabilities in the New York City area. Together, we gave many New Yorkers the opportunity to give back to their community by volunteering their time and energies to ride as captains with our stokers. At InTandem, we do everything together.

Join us on the Yale Day of Service for a ride around Central Park on one of our tandems with a visually impaired “stoker.” We’ll give you the training you need while leaving time for a ride or two around Central Park’s picturesque six mile loop.

Please bring your bike helmet.
