The June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives in West Hollywood, CA is a treasure trove of archives documenting the lesbian and feminist experience in Southern California. The Mazer also aims to be a research + development resource hub for other community archives. We need your help to increase the accessibility of these archives to diverse audiences!
Opportunity 1: The Mazer has been collecting oral histories, but we need your assistance to edit and transcribe these videos and make the texts available to researchers and community members. Volunteers with basic video editing skills and software are needed to prepare recordings for our Vimeo.
Opportunity 2: Volunteers are needed to transcribe uploaded videos, using a provided template and simple training.
Opportunity 3: Volunteers are needed to translate the copy of a 4-page website from English to Spanish (approximately 5,000 words). The website is designed to foster intergenerational engagement for community-based archivists.
