The most effective way to prevent homelessness, substance use and incarceration is early intervention with foster children, which is what Child Advocates of Silicon Valley has done with great success. However, non-profit organizations like Child Advocates often struggle to maintain financial viability despite great wealth in the Silicon Valley region, a problem emphasized by the Giving Code report sponsored by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation in 2016. As a result, Child Advocates received a grant to help bridge the funding gap in Silicon Valley and has asked the Yale Club of Silicon Valley (YCSV) to review draft materials funded by the grant.  YCSV members will essentially function as a focus group for the Child Advocates organization, reviewing materials and giving feedback on how the organization may achieve sustainability on behalf of foster children in Silicon Valley.  The  Giving Code report will also be discussed.
While snacks and drinks will be served please bring your own lunch.
