Description:
Yale alumni, family, and friends will volunteer in the Warehouse or Kitchen. Warehouse tasks may include bagging food items, stocking the Grocery Center shelves or shopping for clients. Kitchen volunteers slice and dice whole food (sometimes including meat and dairy products) and help assemble meal packages for clients.

Project Open Hand, founded in 1985, provides nutritious meals with love  to seniors and critically ill neighbors.  Every day, they prepare 2,500 nutritious meals and provide 200 bags of healthy groceries to help sustain their clients as they battle serious illnesses, isolation, or the health challenges of aging.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and follow the dress code:  Closed toed shoes, shirts with sleeves, full length pants, and a hat to cover your hair (if you  do not want to wear a hair net).
