Join other San Diego Yalies to help with an onsite adaptive cycling clinic where local paracyclists of all abilities will come get training from CAF. While there, we’ll also help the staff with a campus beautification project. We will take a tour of the facility including their adaptive training center and hear from Travis Ricks, an amputee - associate director of programs at CAF - and a member of Team USA sitting volleyball.
It is the mission of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) to provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges, so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics. CAF believes that involvement in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life. Their facility showcases the mission of the foundation, honors athletes and their accomplishments, and serves as the location for educational programs, free adaptive classes and community education events.
