Description:

Join the Yale Corporation of Rochester and The Nature Conservancy for the Yale Day of Service at our Thousand Acre Swamp Preserve on Saturday, May 11th! We will be replacing aging and broken boardwalk planks to enhance the visitor experience by hauling new planks wood into the work area, pulling out old planks and bringing them back to the parking lot, and hammering the new planks into place.

We will meet in the parking lot at 10 am to get started. Gloves will be available for use, but be sure to dress for the weather (clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, raincoat, boots, hat, and sunscreen). Plan on working until 12:00 pm when lunch will be provided. This event will happen rain or shine. As another community outreach event, please feel free to bring your gently used clothing items, books, or household goods to donate to Cameron House, which is in the Lyell-Otis neighborhood of the city of Rochester. We can bring these items for donation after we finish our work at the Thousand Acre Swamp.
