9:00am to 7:00pm
Parking is available on site at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Yale volunteers will partner with volunteers from the Palisades Lutheran Church, where Yale Divinity School graduate Kenneth Davis, Div ’95, is the Pastor.
Yale Day of Service volunteers will assemble “mana packs,” to be distributed by Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization that is working to reduce hunger around the world. These “nutritiously complete” food packets have been prepared specifically for malnourished children. Once bundled and placed in boxes, these packets are distributed in over 60 countries and in various locations within the United States.
Games and competitions will be conducted during the project to make the packing activity fun.
Volunteers will work in shifts, with 175 people per shift. Shift times:
9:00 – 11:00 am, 12:00 – 2:00 pm and 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and to be prepared to stand for long periods of time, walk around, and to perform some light lifting. Alums are encouraged to bring friends and family members of all ages. Young people will be assigned safe and age-appropriate duties.
Persons who are not able to attend may make a monetary donation to support the project. Monetary donations will be used to help purchase the manna packs.
