9:30am to 2:30pm
The Community Health Fair is held annually by the Yale SNMA/LMSA chapter for underserved Greater New Haven residents, to benefit their future health and the health of their families.
The health fair will need help from students across the Yale community as well as local medical providers to provide screening, services and information to under-served minority residents in a fun, lively and family-friendly atmosphere at no cost to the health fair participants. We aim to do this through a variety of booths and activities at the fair, including health screening stations (diabetes, blood pressure, HIV, dental, etc), health information booths (eg. mental health, nutrition, LGBTQIA+ health,), games, raffles and more.
Health fair participants will have the opportunity to engage with medical experts on the health issues and questions that are affecting their communities. Additionally, we hope to provide entertainment and fun activities, by holding raffles, health-education games, and exercise activities.
Volunteers will be needed from approximately 9 am to 3 pm the day of the fair to assist with set up, manage the fair, and assist with clean up. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. Volunteers will be expected to stay for their full shift – if you will have any conflicts please let Folawiyo (Folawiyo.firstname.lastname@example.org) know so we can make sure the fair is always adequately staffed . Please read the full role descriptions before signing up!
