Description:

Come celebrate Foster Care Awareness Month and the Yale Day of Service by being part of an event that will give emancipating foster youth the knowledge they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond. The Yale Day of Service is pairing up with The RightWay Foundation, a non-profit that guides young adult foster youth toward self-sufficient, stable lives through job placement and counseling.

Yale volunteers will help prepare transition-age foster youth for their first jobs, first bank accounts, and first budgets as they begin their lives as adults. Volunteers will lead small groups in a discussion on job-readiness and financial literacy. (We will provide suggested talking points, so all you need to bring is yourself!)  Topics will include budgeting, savings, and debt, as well as accountability, how to bring your best self to the job, and how to build a career. Friends and family are welcome.

We are also seeking sponsors for the lunch and t-shirts that we will be providing for our youth.
