Description:
We will meet and work at the Skiff Mountain South Preserve, a 250-acre Kent Land Trust property adjacent to the Marvelwood School. Park near the Preserve’s kiosk, found next to 402 Skiff Mountain Road.

We will improve the Preserve’s trail network and wildlife habitat by building and installing two short boardwalks, installing an educational sign, and preparing an area for planting of bird-friendly native plants. Lunch will be provided, courtesy of Marvelwood School. Participants will also learn about an ongoing bird banding and bird habitat management program from Master Bander and Marvelwood School Science Chair Laurie Doss.

Participants should be comfortable working outdoors, using hand tools, and walking over uneven ground. Please wear rugged outdoor clothes and bring work gloves and water. Tools and insect repellent will be provided.
