Description:
We’ll have two different service opportunities through Urban Ministry. We’ll have tasks for all ages, so please feel free to bring your children.

Outside: we’ll be digging, composting, weeding, planting, watering, and performing various other gardening tasks in the West End (WE) Community Garden. Please bring gardening tools if you have them. WE Garden was Urban Ministry’s first social enterprise and has become a source of pride and a symbol of hope in the West End Community. WE Garden grows fresh fruit, produce and essential skills for living, working and thriving by hiring young adults through the Workforce and Life Skills Program, WE Work.

Inside: For those who would rather do work inside, we will be cleaning and and painting the indoor classrooms used for Urban Ministry’s urban kids program, WE Learn, to prepare the space for their summer learning project. WE Learn focuses on the gifts and talents of each child that walks through the doors to participate in our After School and Summer Learning Programs.

Also, we’ll plan to gather together for lunch after we finish.
