Description:
Volunteers will be divided into small groups to help unpack boxes, sort, organize and distribute furniture, household items, professional clothing, nonperishable food, and cleaning supplies.

A Wider Circle serves individuals and families who are transitioning out of homelessness. Most of the clients live in apartments that are nearly empty and sleep on the floor and store their clothes in plastic bags. Volunteers are encouraged to help the clients select and pack items and hardy volunteers can also help them load up their cars, vans, and trucks.

There are projects for all ages and skill levels so if you aren’t able to lift boxes and furniture, no worries. We’re also looking for a volunteer or two to take and tweet out pictures during the day to the YDoS site.

Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes that cover your toes.  This is a warehouse setting so there are stairs and lots of space to cover so you can get a good workout *if* you want to. There are also areas where you can stay on one level if stairs are a problem for you. You will be going in and out of buildings so dress for the weather.
