By mutual and enthusiastic agreement, YCL is partnering with the Children’s Service at BRC. Yale alumni and their families will host a day of recreation and discovery for 18 young people who’ve come to the UK as unaccompanied minors. 12 of the 18 will be very recent arrivals; the other six will be young people who are ‘university bound’. We’ll need alums to help organise games, small group activities and refreshments.
The day will start with a boat ride from London Bridge to Greenwich, then up the hill to a picnic and games location in Greenwich Park. After lunch we’ll make our way back down the hill to the Queen’s House for smaller group engagement and storytelling, ending with a visit to the Royal Naval College.
In the event of bad weather, we’ll take cover in the Maritime Museum.
