11:00am to 2:00pm
Location: TBA
We are excited to announce this year’s Yale Day of Service project which will take place this Saturday, May 13th in Istanbul.
As you may know, Istanbul is currently hosting over 500,000 Syrian refugees. Luckily, most of them have access to basic public services or receive humanitarian aid from NGOs. However, more civil initiatives are needed to ensure their well-being and integration with Turkish society. For this purpose, for this year’s Yale Day of Service we have decided to spend the day with Syrian children to understand their situation a little bit better.
We will meet with 15 Syrian children and visit the Istanbul Modern Museum together. Following the visit, we will have light lunch and continue with a painting workshop, which will give an opportunity to all of us to reflect on our experience. We hope to gain a better understanding and develop a healthier perspective about the situation by connecting with these children.
So, come and be part of it! Your children are welcome to join us.
The program is as follows:
11.00 - 12.15: Visit to İstanbul Modern Museum
12.15 - 12.30: Transfer to Depo İstanbul
12.30 - 12.45: Light Lunch
12.45 - 14.00: Painting Workshop
14.00 - 14.15: Ending the Day with a Group Picture
